The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel, FUGFA Investigations Chamber and FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel have made decisions regarding the abandoned UPL match-day 13 fixture between Onduparaka FC and KCCA FC.

The match which was abandoned in additional time following fans’ violence which included pitch invasion, shall be replayed on a date yet to be communicated. It has also been announced that the reply will take place at a neutral venue rather than the Green Light Stadium in Arua, the home of Onduparaka FC.

It is understood that the Caterpillars bleached the FUFA Competitions Rules which highlight acts of hooliganism, abandonment of a match, order and security both inside and outside the stadium before, during and after matches.

As a consequence, Onduparaka have been deducted two points and as many goals. Further more, they have been handed a suspended deduction of a point and a goal plus closed stadiun suction for home games.

Onduparaka FC remains with the responsibility of the match day organisation of the replay. However, FUFA shall give a contribution of UGX 2,500,000 (Uganda shillings Two million Five Hundred Thousand) to each club and shall forward the said monies to the respective club accounts so as to ensure the reply is effected.

In regard to the destruction of property owned by KCCA FC and its officials, the Competitions Disciplinary Panel has forwarded the matter to the FUFA Investigatory Chamber for further consideration.

It should be remembered that Onduparaka fans invaded the Green Light Stadium after referee Ronald Madanda awarded KCCA a controversial penalty in the 5th minute of additional time.

As a result, the panlty was not taken, KCCA property including their chairman’s car was vandalised forcing the abandonment of the match.

Some players and officials of Onduparaka are said to have played a part in the abandonment of the game and two of them have been handed bans.

Vice-captain and left back Rashid Okocha has been suspended from all football activities effective 31st December 2021 until 31st May 2022 and fined UGX 1,000,000(Uganda Shillings one million).

Club CEO Edson Saba Saba who is alleged to have incited violence amongst fans by telling them not to get out of the field of play and protested the penalty with threatening words and gestures plus hurling insults at the match officials, has been provisionally suspended from football activities for 90 days.

The duration of the suspension may be extended for an additional period not exceeding 45 days basing on the investigations relating to alleged breach of the FUFA Competition Rules and inciting violence against the match officials. The provisional suspension is premised on the match reports and recorded statements.

Additionally, referee Ronald Madanda who is said to have failed to justify the poor officiating which gravely affected the match, is suspended from football activities until 20th June 2022.

Madanda’s matter is further forwarded to the Investigation Chamber of the Ethics Committee to further investigate whether the incorrect decisions of Mr Madanda Ronald in the match were intended to influence the result.

  1. In regard to Onduparaka and KCCA match, referee Mandada is to carry the whole blame. Much as the players invaded the stadium, but the referee was a problem him self. He failed to control the game. This explains why our officiation is always vague. What a shame to FUFA now blaming Onduparaka
